PAINT THE PARKS WINNER SUBMITTAL INSTRUCTIONS

The final judging for the 2011 Paint the Parks100 has been held. You will be receiving more information by mail, but this is all the information you'll need for shipping. If you are a Paint the Parks100 or Mini50 Winner as listed on the website, your painting should be submitted to the address below. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND USE THE CHECKLIST BELOW!

Carefully package and ship your framed, Paint the Parks100 or Mini50 paintings, to arrive NO LATER THAN September 15, 2011 to:

            PaintAmerica, c/o Coutts Museum
            110 N. Main St.
            El Dorado, KS 67042
816.806.3340

IMPORTANT! SHIPPING AND PACKING CHECKLIST:
____ We recommend Airfloat Systems StrongBox (www.airfloatsys.com) or a similar packaging method (ask for the PaintAmerica Discount if ordering new).

____ If using a different type of box, please use sponge foam (preferred) or bubble wrap. If using bubble wrap – DO NOT TAPE IT! Wrap it loosely around your painting and slide into a snug box. Be sure the box is sturdy enough that it can be opened and re-used several times during the touring exhibit period.  Most “homemade” boxes do not hold up over multiple exhibits. This is a professional exhibit, and your paintings should be packaged accordingly.

____ DO NOT use Styrofoam peanuts in your packing. PAINTINGS SHIPPED IN PEANUTS WILL NOT BE EXHIBITED – NO EXCEPTIONS! If you are using a packaging company, be sure to convey this message to them.

____ Due to rising shipping and storage costs, please package in the smallest possible box that provides adequate protection. This will save you money shipping to and from our office.

____ DO NOT use wooden crates. We understand these provide good protection, but the shipping and storage costs are exponentially higher due to weight, and the time to open and close is much higher, meaning our exhibit venues pay more for staffing time to handle. Many of our venues WILL NOT exhibit paintings shipped in wooden crates so DO NOT USE THEM!

PaintAmerica will ship your painting forward to any gallery exhibits scheduled over the coming year. At the conclusion of the tour, you should contact PaintAmerica to have your painting returned to you, or you may be asked to consider including it in our PaintAmerica Art Auction. The PaintAmerica website will have an updated listing of gallery showings that are scheduled.

We will also be emailing you a “Paint the Parks Winner” logo which you should include on your website, or proudly place on your printed pieces, ads, mailings, etc. to highlight your acceptance in this prestigious competition.  Furthermore, PaintAmerica will be sending out press releases nationwide to further publicize your Paint the Parks honor, so we suggest that you be prepared for possible interviews or higher levels of website traffic, attention to your work, etc.

Paint the Parks has arranged an exhibition of the Paint the Parks winners. Your work will also be shown on the PaintAmerica website for the coming year, and included in the 2010 Paint the Parks full-color viewbook which will be available for purchase.

Also, please send a short biography of yourself that we may forward to the galleries that will be exhibiting the Paint the Parks show. Please be sure to include the year you were born and the year the painting was created (many museums require this for exhibit tags). Also include any significant accomplishments, awards, honors, etc. If you have a website, please include that address as well. Email this to mail@PaintAmerica.org, or mail to:
PaintAmerica Association
P.O. Box 4031
Topeka, KS 66604

We hope your Paint the Parks experience has been positive – we are working very hard to make Paint the Parks the premiere national artists’ competition in the country. As a non-profit organization to support the Arts, we count on you to please pass the word along to others, and we hope to see you entered in our other annual competition, the PaintAmerica Top100, going on now.

Thank you again, and congratulations!
