PaintAmerica’s “Paint the Parks” Art Competition is an open national artists’ competition. A portion of proceeds from “Paint the Parks” will help fund The PaintAmerica scholarship fund for young artist's. A contrribution will also be made to the National Park Foundation. The “Paint the Parks” Call to Entries opens February 1, 2007 with a final deadline of May 31, 2007. Check here for entry forms and complete guidelines.
The show is designed to illustrate the beauty and significance of America’s National Parks. Paintings entered must depict one of our nation's 390 National Park areas. You may find a list of all National Parks here. All entries will be individually scored, with winners in each of the three National Park Regions, plus a Grand Prize Purchase Award Winner. The “Paint the Parks” winning paintings are chosen to go on to a national touring exhibit. With this honor comes national exposure, through an online and touring exhibition, as well as the opportunity to become the overall national winner. The competition’s overall winner claims a $10,000 purchase award. Other artists in the “Paint the Parks” competition also have an excellent chance to receive additional cash purchase awards and prizes, such as a $3,500 Grand Canyon Association Purchase Award, making it one of the richest art competitions in America. In addition, the “Paint the Parks” Mini Competition follows a similar format, but for paintings of 165 square inches in size or less. The Mini Competition will choose a Mini Top50, with a $5,000 Grand Prize Purchase Award Winner and other cash prizes.
