The 2nd Annual PaintAmerica Top100 Art Competition Call to Entries opens on August 1, 2007 and final deadline is November 15, 2007. Check here for entry forms and complete guidelines to be posted on or before August 1, 2007. The PaintAmerica Top100 is an open national artists’ competition to help fund the PaintAmerica mission of actively supporting and promoting the visual arts through education, networking and advocacy. The show is designed to illustrate American life. Representative art should depict the beauty and grandeur of American nature, landscape, seascape, cityscape, etc. Paintings can also represent lifestyle scenes from America. Artists may paint artworks depicting any of the 50 states. All entries begin competition at the state level. The top two artworks in each state attain the honor of being recognized as part of the Top 100 in the nation. With this honor comes national exposure, through an online and touring exhibition, as well as the opportunity to become the overall national winner. The competition’s overall winner claims a $5,000 purchase award as well as a cash award. Other artists in the top 100 competition also have an excellent chance to receive additional cash purchase awards and prizes, making it one of the richest art competitions in America. There is no longer a “mini” competition in the PaintAmerica Top100. Mini artists should consider entering “Paint the Parks.” 2006 PaintAmerica Top100 Exhibit Schedule: 2-2-07 to 2-28-07 Mini Top50 at SouthWind Gallery, Topeka,KS
